Too many people overlook the enormous value in having a morning routine.   Having time in the morning that is completely your own can help you set the day off on the right foot. Creating an early morning routine can be one of your keys to success.  This has been true for so many leaders, CEOs, and successful entrepreneurs.  

Today, my morning routine is focused on getting myself refreshed, centered, and intentional.  Sometimes, I use it to journal or meditate.  I usually plan out the day if I hadn’t planned the night before.   Often, I start the day with a glass of hot lemon water or sometimes a cup of tea. And more often than not, I set my intentions for the day.

There are many rewards from having an early morning routine.

  • You will feel better:  when you wake up earlier you will find you have more focus and presence in the rest of your day.  You will feel less scattered and chaotic. Studies show that early risers are in better mental and physical health than night owls.
  • You will be more organized:  When you have time to get ready for your day, you will hit the ground running becoming better prepared. This will give you the right mindset to tackle your day’s challenges.
  • You will feel more centered:  Instead of flying out of bed, scrambling to get ready, you will have time to calmly move through your morning.  This will bring you a peace you will come to treasure!
  • You will be more productive: For most people, mornings are the best time to be focused.  When you kick your day off with a well-design routine (see Bonus below), your productivity increases overall throughout your day.
  • You will be more creative:  Many people find their creative energy is highest in the morning so the best time to write, brainstorm, or do what is creative for them.
